While marketing campaigns can differ from business to business, you usually find that the successful ones all have a few things in common. Now, I dub these things ‘the three C’s,’ and I’d like to just explain to you what they are and why they’re so beneficial for your marketing campaign. Hopefully, after learning about them, you can ensure your marketing campaign includes them all as well.
Creativity
All of the best campaigns have a great deal of creativity surrounding them. Having the ability to think outside the box is so important if you want to promote your business. Or, more accurately, it helps your business stand out from the crowd as you’re doing something that’s different and creative. There are so many examples of creative marketing campaigns out there that I can’t possibly list them all. It’s hard to teach creativity too or provide tips on how to be more creative. All I can really say is that you should avoid being too ‘normal’ and boring. Think of ways you can be different and stray from the norm.
Content
Every marketing strategy should be built around content. Content is something for consumers to engage in, it’s what will attract them to your business. It forms the core principle of inbound marketing, which is highly effective in this day and age. All of the best online marketing companies will focus on content rather than outbound ideas like cold calls or producing leaflets. A powerful blog post can be way more effective than an expensive TV advert. Your content also helps solidify your brand values and creates an identity for consumers to align themselves with. Therefore, it helps build a loyal customer base as well as generating new ones.
Consistency
The third thing is consistency. It’s all very well if you produce creative content, but you need to be consistent with it. There are a couple of different ways you can look at consistency. For example, you should consistently create content on social media. This means you’re always updating your Facebook status, you’re constantly posting on Instagram and Twitter – you don’t leave massive gaps between posts. The same goes for blog posts or other forms of content you produce; you need to be consistent with it.
Then, you have the idea of making sure everything you produce stays consistent with your brand and the core aim of your strategy. As a very easy example, imagine your business is aimed at parents. All of the content you produce should be targeted at that audience and remain relevant to them. You can’t produce a blog post detailing some parenting tips one week, and then post one about the joys of being single the next. It’s inconsistent and won’t help with your brand identity!
Once you understand the 3 C’s and apply them to your marketing campaign, you’ll see almost instant success. All the successful businesses run campaigns that are creative, built around quality content, and have a high degree of consistency across the board. Take note of this, and you can start promoting your business the right way.
