Owning a business is one of the most competitive things you will ever do in your life. No pressure, but it’s a lot harder than people think. Some wake up one day with a great idea and assume that as long as they have a decent amount of money to put into that idea, it’ll work and they’ll live happily ever after, but this isn’t the case at all.
It’s hard – really hard.
You need to know all you can within the industry that you’re trying to enter first because if you don’t understand it, you will be eaten alive. Then you need to be smart and make the right decisions in order to get somewhere, but also while taking calculated risks that may give you instant success overnight – or tarnish your business forever.
And let’s not forget about the competition. People don’t always play nice, it’s money we’re talking about here, and your competitors will target you immediately as soon as you start doing well, because it threatens them. See it as just having a constant bullseye stamped all over your brand. So it’s down to you how you plan on climbing out of the fighter pit and finding your way on top.
As the years go by, things are changing – everything is becoming so much more advanced and technology driven. The key is to flow with that change, and be as current and bang on trend as you can.
Here’s how you can do just that.
Chatbots
When you run a website, you will most likely end up having email after email to deal with. And while this is good because it means that you’re popular, it can get overwhelming if you don’t have many hands on deck. Not only that, but there will be a wait, because you all have to end your working day some time or another – you need your sleep. But there will be people out there wanting an answer to their inquiry quickly, but are having to wait.
This isn’t your fault, but you can make it better by installing the use of chatbots. This is essentially a programmed software that responds to any questions (within reason) that your customers want answers to. And better yet – they work immediately and never sleep, so you are able to provide your customers with a twenty-four seven service.
Social media
Everyone is on social media nowadays, that’s just how the world works now. People use it to gain followers, make money, find out information, follow trends, and admire others – it’s their source of everything, and this is why having a social media marketing strategy is key. First, you will need to think about who your target audience is, and then make your account to suit them, giving them the content that they want.
For example, if you’re a clothing store, then Instagram will be your best friend. Regularly upload photos and short videos of beautiful models wearing your range. Get creative with the shots you take, and cater them to whatever age or gender you’re focusing on. Give people a reason to fall in love.
