The world of blogging is full of so many different opportunities. If you love writing and creating content, then you may just start out doing this for fun. Even if you know that you ideally want to be able to blog for business and make money from it, you can often love the writing part so much, that it’s all you tend to focus on. However, before long you may want to become a successful blogger. Or you may even realize that you are a successful blogger. And that can be incredible. When you’re engaging your audience, getting the traffic that you want, and you’re starting to make some money, you’ll want to think about what comes next.
When new bloggers to look monetize their sites, things like advertising or affiliate income are always a great place to start. But when you’re already making money in this way, you may wonder how else you can make some money – and there’s definitely a lot of options available to you. One of which is to launch a product – or a range of products. Maybe you love the idea of having your own stationery line or beauty product or book? Is there an industry you’ve always wanted to be in or business idea that you’ve wanted to pursue? Well, your blogging platform could allow you to do that.
Interested? Great! But maybe you have some questions? Maybe you’re not sure how you can launch products or whether you’re even ready to? Maybe you are so overwhelmed or intimidated by the idea you can’t get started? Well, here’s how you can make it happen.
Set Goals
So first of all, you’re going to want to think about what you want to get out of this. Why are you launching a product? This can then help you to set goals in place. Maybe you want to reach a set number of sales? Maybe you want to grow your audience? Maybe you want to be able to position yourself in a certain way, to help you get to another level? Make sure that you have goals in place, so that you can work towards them as you launch your products.
Do Some Research
From here, you’re then going to want to start with a ton of research. You need to know what you audience will buy from you. It’s no good to decide that you want to launch a notebook range, if your audience is not going to buy a notebook from you. So ask them and work out what they do want.
Do More Research
And them, you need to do more research. But this time, it’s into the product itself. You’ll want to find suppliers for the products you want to make, or manufacturers. You will also want to read more on packing design so that you can get that right too. Just make sure that you’re looking into a range of options before you make decisions on what you want.
Find Experts
From here, you’re then going to want to make sure that you have experts in your order. If you don’t know a lot about designing a book cover, then hire a designer. If you’re not sure how to setup an ecommerce system, then bring in support. Make sure that you have the right experts around you, to really do a good job.
Delegate
As a step on from that, you may even need to bring people in-house. Maybe you’re really struggling to run your blog and stay on top of your content calendar and emails AND get this product off the ground? Then delegating will really help you. Here, something as simple as hiring a virtual assistant could be really beneficial to you.
Create a Launch Schedule
While all of this is going on, you’ll then need to be thinking about how you’re going to launch – and when. Ideally, you’ll have a pre-launch promotional schedule to get your audience interested in the product when it’s coming. You can find information here on how to do exactly that. But also make sure that you’re including some of the key manufacturing milestones here so, so everything runs smoothly.
Market, Market, Market
Then, you’ll want to make sure that you’re really pushing your marketing when the product is live. Maybe you want to do some advertising or promoted posts on social media? Maybe you want to do some PR to get your name out there? Just think about the tactics that are going to help you to raise more awareness of your product.
Analyze The Results
Now, you’re then going to want to start keeping a close eye on your sales as soon as your launch date pasts. Analyzing your sales data is a really great way for you to push on to the next level. If you want to understand how to push to the next level, or what you need to do to increase your sales going forward, you need to start that data collection ASAP.
Push For More Sales
Then, you can look to manipulate that data and work out how you’re going to push for more sales. There are lots of tactics you can use here. But you will want to understand your audience and your numbers first. Then, you can start to optimize your marketing campaigns and activity to get better results.
Add To Your Product Line
And finally, the very last thing for you to do, is to add to your product line. Now, you may feel as if you just want to work on the one product that you’ve launched, and that’s great. By optimizing your product and making it better, you’ll still be giving back to your readers. But maybe they want more? Maybe they’re already asking you for more information on future launches or for products that complement what you’ve launched? Then why not give them what they want? By planning out your next product, you’ll be able to keep the momentum going.
