When you first start out in business, you will have a mission. Whether you want to solve a problem, follow your passion, or create something special, there will always be some kind of image in your mind of what you’re looking to achieve. It’s also highly likely that you will have business heroes too. Maybe there are people out there that you want to be like, or businesses that you admire?
Well, when you look at them, it’s highly likely that you will find that they are branded so well. Whether we’re talking about a company or a person, branding is essential when you’re trying to get established. But what do you do when you’re not really sure how to do that? Well, let’s take a look at how and where to work on your branding to strengthen it overall.
#1 – A Website
The first place that should become your backbone of branding, is your website. This is the main area that should establish the tone of your brand. If you don’t already have a professional looking business website, then this is what you need to be working on first. So think about finding a website designer or branding specialist that you love the look of and start to establish the basis of what your brand is all about.
#2 – Affiliations
The next thing to think about is the people and businesses that you’re associated with. And you do have to be careful here. The people that you are networking with will reflect on your business. But you can also use this to your advantage. If you’re able to associate and affiliate your business with brands that are on par with your brand image and ethos, then this can only ever boost your brand in the eyes of your audience.
#3 – Merchandise
From here, there’s also merchandise too. It’s important to have your brand name in as many places as possible if you want it to become known. So make sure that you get merchandise made up, with someone such as Custom Earth Promos, and even consider options like sign writing too. The more your brand name can get around, the better.
#4 – Advertising
Then, you’ve got advertising too. When you’re working on growing your brand organically, it can be a slow burn. Instead, you need to make sure that you’re boosting it in any way that you can. Creating great graphics and copy and then planning out strategic advertising placements is a great way to support your organic activity.
#5 – Social Media
And, of course, there’s always social media to rely on too. If you really want to strengthen your brand, and you want to be sure that you’re able to really integrate things, it’s so important that your branding is clear and concise across all of your social media platforms. Here, coming up with a social media brand strategy may help you. Think about how you want to be seen, know your tone, get your visuals right, and then stay consistent so that it all pays off.
