When you decide to start setting up an MLM company or network marketing business, you’re going to need to consider how to market it. There are a lot of tools at your disposal that you can use. An important question to ask is whether you’re going to focus your marketing on an offline or online platform. There are benefits and drawbacks to both possibilities.
There are lots of ways to build your offline marketing campaign such as:
- Appearing at public events
- Appearing in Malls
- Dropping flyers
- Building a business hub
- Knocking on doors
Each can be highly effective and one of the best advantages of this is that marketing becomes very personal. It allows you to meet with people and communicate with them directly. This can be more persuasive and more active which is important.
You can start off with smaller possibilities such as flyers but as your business grows you can begin to think about building a hub for your brand. Websites like www.cochraneng.com/, provide examples in their portfolio of just how important and indeed effective the right business station can be for your company. We’ve talked before about the power of a logo. Well, imagine the type of attention you’ll receive when that logo is four feet wide above the door of your company.
Of course, this example does bring us to the crux of the issue with offline marketing. It’s expensive and if your business is just getting off the ground, it might be better to run your company from home, even if it does mean you miss out on that personal touch.
Just like offline marketing, there are lots of ways to build leads online too like:
- Social Media
- Newsfeeds
- Email Newsletters
- Video marketing
With these examples, we have really only scratched the potential of what marketing online can do. But let’s take social media as an example. With social media, you can interact with as many potential clients as you like and gain the attention of affiliates. Technically, you can do this without paying anything at all. Though, if you want to see higher levels of success, you’ll need a social media marketer which will come at a cost. When you market through social media you need to focus on engagement through shares, likes and follows.
That aside, people still generally agree that online marketing is cheaper and may even provide a higher value for money. But you do have to be careful. When marketing online it’s important to show some skin and personality. However, if you take this too far it can backfire and lead to negative attention.
Ultimately then, it depends on your business model. If you are looking to build leads far and wide, offline is often the best option. However, if you want to build a solid client base in a local area, you really do need to engage them in a way that is more direct and more personal. Used correctly and this could garner fantastic results for any MLM company.
